Bridge over the river Kwai. During the construction of this infamous bridge this killed about 10 thousand people. It became a symbol of the cruelty of the times of the Japanese occupation of Southeast Asia. In 1944, the bridge was destroyed, only the rounded steel structures were preserved. Later, the Japanese restored the rectangular middle parts of the structure as war reparations.
