Red soil Dongchuan, CHINA. Red soil Dongchuan is a mountain valley located to the south-west of Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province. Due to the remoteness of the country’s public infrastructure, this place is not on the tourist map of China. Valley was discovered in the mid-1990s. Wavy landscape like a patchwork quilt shimmers with brown-red shades due to the high concentration of minerals and fossils.
