7. Philippines – Ferdinand Marcos
Was the President from 1965 to 1986. The desire for absolute power manifested intolerance of dissent. Questionable victory (intimidation, vote buying, and so on) on the next elections has led to a military coup in the country. Marcos was forced to flee. After a serious illness he died three years later in Hawaii.
