Concentration camps. The British invented TV, Internet and mini-skirts, but they were also the creators of the first concentration camps. We usually associate them only with the Nazis, but Britons have used them during the Second Boer War (1899 – 1902). General Kitchener, trying to suppress the opposition, decided to put his family, fighting against the Boers, in the concentration camps, to deprive Boer “commandos” of the possibility of supply and support. This unjustified cruelty was only the tip of the iceberg among all that has done the British Empire.
